Who we are
Jill Omari, Director
For over 20 years, Jill Omari has served in Africa with a heart for compassion and practical love. After joining a church-planting team early in her ministry (2001), she helped launch programs for children, families, and vulnerable communities —feeding families, supporting orphans, and empowering local leaders.
Her experience in cross-cultural missions, team development, and sustainable outreach led her to establish Base Camp Missions—a movement built on the belief that everyone has a place in missions. Today, she continues to connect people, build partnerships, and champion healthy, life-giving service around the world.

Base Camp Missions is built on a culture of collaboration. Our team is a diverse group of mission-minded individuals, some are career missionaries serving with various organizations, while others are passionate leaders, supporters, and advocates for sustainable missions. We are united by a shared vision: to strengthen and equip those carrying the Gospel to the nations. Base Camp is not about one organization but about bringing together like-minded people who believe in healthy, impactful, and lasting mission work. Together, we create a community where missionaries, churches, and individuals can gather, grow, and go forward in the Great Commission.
Julie Ippolito, Director of Missionary Care & Sustainability
As part of Julie's international ministry serving volunteers and missionaries, Julie partners with Base Camp Missions in an advisory capacity. Through care support, training input, and leadership guidance, she equips teams and front-line workers to recognize burnout, process trauma, and build healthy practices that protect both their calling and their well-being. Her work strengthens Base Camp Missions’ commitment to sustainable, life-giving engagement in the Great Commission—ensuring that those who pour out their lives in service feel fully equipped, thus reducing attrition.
Mike & Jana McMillan, Field Operations Managers-Tanzania
Mike and Jana McMillan serve as Field Operations Managers – Tanzania in a volunteer partnership capacity. They are trusted on-the-ground partners who assist with base logistics, support mission teams, strengthen ministry partnerships, and help oversee approved field projects. While they lead their own nonprofit organization, their work in this role functions as a collaborative partnership with Base Camp Missions to ensure smooth field operations and strong local relationships.
Base Camp Missions' ONLINE MISSIONS-MINDED COMMUNITY is developing to be a central hub for kingdom-minded individuals and organizations that will make a lasting impact in missions.
